About this place
Rosh Hanikra Grottoes
At Rosh Hanikra, pale limestone cliffs meet the Mediterranean just south of the Lebanese border. Waves have carved a system of sea grottoes, creating an unusual combination of rock passages, turquoise water and coastal views.
Access to the grottoes is managed by a dedicated visitor attraction. The sea conditions can affect entry, and some paths may be wet or slippery. The cliffs and coastal lookout are a different experience from a conventional beach.
What to see
- Sea grottoes formed by wave erosion
- White limestone cliffs above the Mediterranean
- Coastal viewpoints at Israel’s northern edge
