Red Canyon Eilat

The Red Canyon is a short, dramatic sandstone gorge in the Eilat Mountains, where layers of red and ochre rock form narrow passages. Light filtering between the canyon walls creates changing colours along the walking route.

This is a desert hiking destination rather than a built attraction. Some route variations include ladders or steep sections, and conditions can change rapidly after rain in the mountains.

Visitor information

Choose a route suited to your ability, carry drinking water and follow official trail markings. Never enter narrow canyons when flash floods are forecast.
