About this place

Timna Park

Timna Park spreads across a desert valley north of Eilat, known for red sandstone landscapes, unusual geological formations and ancient copper mining. The mountains and rock pillars reveal both natural erosion and a long history of human activity.

Solomon’s Pillars, the Mushroom rock and ancient mining remains are attractions within the park rather than separate unrelated destinations. Visitors choose among several routes of different lengths and degrees of difficulty.

What to see

  • Solomon’s Pillars and distinctive sandstone formations
  • Ancient copper mining sites and archaeological remains
  • Desert viewpoints and marked walking routes
